Question of the week:
How do I attach my Halcyon pocket to my wet or dry suit?

Necessary Tools: chalk, small brush, small roller

Recommended Adhesive: McNett Seal Cement

1. Don suit and hold pocket in desired location. (Recommended placement is on outer-thigh to keep the pockets out of the flow)

2. Use chalk to outline the desired location for pocket.

3. Remove suit and place on a hard flat surface.

4. Apply first coat of Seal Cement around outer one-inch strip on both the suit and the pocket.

5. Allow the adhesive to get tacky for about ten minutes and then apply a second coat.

6. Allow the adhesive to dry until tacky, for about ten minutes, and then apply a third coat.

7. Again allow the adhesive to dry until tacky, about ten minutes.

8. Place the pocket on the suit in the exact location desired. (Make sure it’s correct since it will not move easily at this point)

9. Use the roller to roll the pocket on the suit.

10. Allow drying for at least 24 hours before diving.

DIR Tip #55
A diver experiencing a primary light failure can easily turn on the reserve light prior to its removal. The benefit is clear: if dropped, this light can now be easily retrieved. Also, the reserve light can be activated and left affixed while managing any other equipment issues. Lights located on the harness below the arms are easier to remove, easier to activate, easier to replace and do not require additional equipment like clamps and D-rings on the tank.
